NOH Kyung-yoon (45), head of the Career and Employment Support Team at Yeungnam University (President CHOI Oe-chool), was awarded the Presidential Commendation at the 2024 Job Creation Merit Ceremony held at the Daegu Regional Employment and Labor Office on September 9.  The "2024 Job Creation Merit Award" is presented to individuals who have contributed to the creation of quality jobs, either by increasing employment opportunities or leading improvements in job quality. It particularly recognizes those who have made significant efforts to expand employment for both youth and middle-aged workers, as well as enhance the overall quality of jobs.


 Since joining YU Career Support Office in October 2011, NOH has dedicated 12 years and 11 months to supporting youth employment, matching job opportunities, and actively participating in government-supported youth employment policies like the University Job Plus Center project.Under NOH's leadership, YU University Job Plus Center received excellent ratings for seven consecutive years, and in 2024, the university was selected for the Student-Centered Employment Services program. NOH also organized numerous job fairs aimed at local youth, including YU Employment Day, joint recruitment presentations for relocated public institutions in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk area, and the Job Fair for Young Scientists and Technologists in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region. He introduced a dedicated career consultant system, developed tailored career guidance curricula, and established a personalized career and employment counseling system. Noh has also led efforts in providing customized employment support by regularly hosting university-industry exchange events with top local companies and operating various industry-academia cooperative talent development programs. As the chair of the National University Career Managers' Association, he has contributed to spreading best practices in youth employment policies supported by the government across universities.


 NOH expressed his commitment, saying, “From career exploration and planning to acquiring job-related skills and on-site internships, I will continue to work towards enhancing the employability of Yeungnam University students and local youth through comprehensive employment programs.”


YU President CHOI Oe-chool remarked, “This award affirms the excellence of Yeungnam University’s career and employment support system. We have made proactive investments in strengthening student employability, including being selected for the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s Student-Centered Employment Services program this year. We will continue to provide diverse support to nurture talents who can contribute not only to regional development but also to global prosperity.
